What is
Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment aimed at allowing the body increased free flowing movements within joints, muscles, ligaments and tendons in order to reduce pain. Osteopathy looks at gradually improving the symmetry of the body through each treatment as well as improving blood and nerve supply to all joints in the body, including the spine.
Backache is the most common problem, due to hectic lifestyles and poor posture.
However patients have also reported that osteopathy has helped with upper extremity problems.
Osteopathic Training
Training is a four-year full time course, leading to an osteopathic degree. All osteopaths have to be registered by a governing body in the UK called the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and if they are not, it is illegal to call themselves an Osteopath.
